Kahne Has Framework for Success in No. 79 Trus-Joist Dodge Charger

Young “Stud” to Debut No. 79 Trus-Joist Dodge Charger at Richmond This Weekend

STATESVILLE, NC – Kasey Kahne has already proven he can win in the Busch series this year, and now he’s ready to hammer home the point this weekend in the first outing for the No. 79 Trus-Joist Dodge Charger.

Built by Evernham Motorsports, the No. 79 Trus-Joist Dodge is led by team director Chris Andrews and manned by the same over-the-wall crew that supports Kahne’s No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. The car features powerful Evernham engines and will run Evernham chassis No. B-21, which was tested at Richmond.

“I like Richmond. It’s a fun track to race on. We tested up there last week and had a pretty good test. We’ve made a lot of progress on our short-track program and I’m getting more comfortable on these kinds of tracks as we get more races under our belt.

“It will be great to drive a new car this weekend for Trus-Joist. I grew up around the logging industry, so I know a little bit about lumber. And, I like carpentry and stuff like that, so it’s cool to be associated with them. If I wasn’t racing cars, I’d probably be doing something in construction.”
