Bashas' Supermarkets 200 - Shane Hmiel Notes

#32 WINFUEL TEAM HEADS TO THE DESERT TO TAKE ON PHOENIX AT NIGHT

MOORESVILLE, NC (April 19, 2005) – Shane Hmiel and the #32 WINFUEL team head out west to Phoenix this weekend for the first night race on the 2005 Busch series schedule.

“I’m looking forward to heading back out west to Phoenix,” Shane Hmiel said. “At the end of last season, Phoenix was one of the first few races that I ran for Braun Racing. Unfortunately, we were involved in an accident and we ended up only finishing 32nd. We will definitely be able to improve upon that finish from last year if everything goes well.”

Running the last four races of 2004 for Braun Racing allowed Shane to get settled into his new ride and familiar with his team. “I feel so much more confidant going back to Phoenix this time around with Braun Racing,” the #32 WINFUEL driver explained. “Every week when we go to the track, I know that my guys have worked hard to prepare the best cars that they possibly can. I’m able to go to each track feeling like we have a good shot at going to Victory Lane.”

“Last year, Phoenix was only my third race with the team and I was still getting to know all of the guys and they were getting comfortable with me too,” Hmiel explained. “This year, we’ve been able to come together as a team and I know that I can depend on my WINFUEL guys.”

During last weekend’s race at Texas, Braun Racing entered into a new marketing partnership with The Fraternal Order of Eagles. “Last weekend, we had a group of guests from the organization and it was the first time that most of them had even been to a race,” Hmiel said. “It was great to be able to win the pole for them in the first weekend that they were on board with Braun. The Eagles are a wonderful charitable group and we are proud to have them as an associate sponsor on the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet.”
