Jeremy Mayfield drove the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge to a 28th place finish after being plagued with a series of unfortunate incidents throughout the day including a tire problem and an overheating engine. Kasey Kahne was the race winner driving the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge. The win was Kahne's first since November 2003 at Homestead Miami Speedway.

Driver of the Evernham Motorsports No. 9 Dodge Charger, Kasey Kahne, will take over the reins of the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge this weekend at Phoenix International and the following weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

“Finding the right set-up for a place like Phoenix can be quite a challenge. It’s a tough track. You have two different corners, one being wide and sweeping and the other being more narrow. So you are setting a car up to get around a track that is different everywhere you go. If you are really good in one and two, you might have to give a little in three and four. You’re not going to be perfect at both ends of the track, but if you can get it close you’ll have a good day. Racing under the lights is going to present a new challenge for everyone because it is going to be much cooler that what we are used to at Phoenix.”
Equipment
Kahne will compete with chassis, No. 12, in this weekend’s event in Phoenix. This is the same chassis that Paul Wolfe drove to 12th place finish last season in Loudon and earlier this year in Las Vegas (30th).
