Sam's Town 250 - Jon Wood Notes
ST Motorsports No. 47 Team Notes
Jon Wood Quotes
On Memphis: "This is another of my favorite racetracks. Although
this is the first time I've been there in a Busch Series car, I had a
lot of success there in the trucks. We won a pole there in 2003 and
we've never finished worse than 14th in four races. Turns 1 and 2 are
faster than 3 and 4 so you have to pick which end you want to favor. You
can't be good at both ends, so you have to find something that's good
for both ends, but not great for either end."
On the season: "We followed up a great run at Kansas with another
good run at Lowe's We were in one of those crashes and we even went
behind the wall for some repairs. It's amazing how hard and how fast the
guys on this Clorox/Wisk team worked to get me back out there for a
seventh-place finish. This team has really gelled. The season is just
starting to get interesting."
Crew Chief Jay Guy Quote
On Memphis: "All of the flat tracks present unique challenges and
Memphis is no different. The fact it's a short track only compounds
everything. At three-quarter miles, it's still a fast track, but you
have to bring a short track mentality. It's important to give Jon a car
that he can push through the corners. The last thing you want is for him
to be off the gas coming off the corners. You want him to start his run
down the straightaways about midway through the corners."
