Sam's Town 250 - A.J. Foyt IV Notes

SAM’S TOWN 250
MEMPHIS MOTORSPORTS PARK
OCTOBER 22, 2005
ANTHONY FOYT IV FAST FACTS
NO. 38 GREAT CLIPS DODGE

FOYT IV MAKES DEBUT AT MEMPHIS - Foyt, driving the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge, will make his NASCAR Busch Series debut in this Saturday’s running of the Sam’s Town 250. Foyt recently completed his third year of competition in the IRL IndyCar Series. In 2005, running a limited schedule, he posted two top-10 finishes.

FOYT’S THOUGHTS ON MEMPHIS - “I’m excited for my first NASCAR Busch race. We were able to test Memphis a few weeks ago, and I feel like everything went really well. It gave me a chance to meet the guys on the team and help us to get comfortable with one another.

“I’m trying not to have too many expectations for this weekend. My main goal is to come out of this weekend with a good solid run and learn everything that I can so that I can go to Texas with some confidence.”

APPEARANCES – Foyt will visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. on Friday, Oct. 21 from 9-10 a.m. During his visit, he will meet with the children and their families as well as sign autographs.

LAST WEEKEND AT LOWE’S - Kasey Kahne made his final start in the Great Clips Dodge last weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. After starting 39th, Kahne avoided the track-record 14 cautions and came back from two-laps down to finish in the 12th position. The Great Clips team now sits 21st in the NASCAR Busch Series owner point standings.

CHASSIS INFORMATION - The Great Clips team is taking chassis No. 59 to Memphis Motorsports Park. Earlier this month, Foyt tested with this brand new car at the 0.75-mile speedway.
