SBC 250 Pre-Race Notes

EVENT INFORMATION – Event: NASCAR Busch Series SBC 250; Time and Date: 9:05 p.m. EDT, Saturday, June 25; Site: The Milwaukee Mile, West Allis, Wis. Live Coverage: FX (television) at 8:30 p.m. EDT and MRN (radio) at 8 p.m. EDT; Qualifying: 6 p.m. EDT, Saturday, June 25, Live on SPEED (television).

MILLER TIME – Last weekend at Kentucky Speedway Brandon Miller recorded his highest finish in the 2005 season. Miller finished 16th and won the Featherlite Most Improved Driver Award.

THE HISTORIC MILWAUKEE MILE – The Milwaukee Mile is the oldest race track on which the NASCAR Busch Series competes. It opened in 1903 with NASCAR making its first appearance in 1984. This year, the “Historic Mile” will see another first. Miller will make his first career Busch Series start at The Milwaukee Mile this weekend, but this is not the only track on which Miller has or will make his first start this season. Miller made firsts at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Kentucky Speedway, and is scheduled to make six more “firsts” at tracks later in the season.

REESE’S CHEVY PREVIOUSLY AT MILWAUKEE – The REESE’S Chevy has finished in the top-10 in one of two starts at The Milwaukee Mile. In 2003 Johnny Sauter started from the pole and finished 13th. In 2004 Clint Bowyer started 21st and finished 10th.

OWNERS’ POINTS – The REESE’S Racing team is fifth in the Busch Series Owners’ Points Standings, 212 points from the top spot.

Brandon had a really good run last weekend at Kentucky and we look for an even better finish this weekend. He continues to learn and improve each week, and I look for much of the same this weekend.”

On Clint Bowyer has a teammate – “We actually work together all the time. We go and test together a lot. Even if he is testing and I am not. I go and hang out and learn as much has I can from him. When I test he comes along and helps me out and gives me some really great tips. He is a great asset to RCR and me.”

Kevin Harvick on Brandon Miller – “Brandon has come from the same go-kart series that I drove in. He was fortunate to go overseas and travel all over the country and do a lot of things in go-karts. He also drove late models and was pretty successful. He is in a pressure cooker situation with the REESE’S Chevy. He needs to go out and do what he knows how to do and drive the car. Once he stops worrying about everything around him and does what he knows best, he will be just fine. He just needs some seat time and experience. I think down the road he will be a major player week in and week out.”
