    Jon Wood Quotes

On Michigan: “This may be my first Busch Series race at Michigan, but I’m certainly no stranger to that track. I’ve got two Top-10 finishes there in the truck series and my family’s race team holds the record there with 11 wins. The thing I know about that track is the driver who can stay on the gas the longest before getting into Turns 1 and 2 and get back on the gas quickest getting off Turns 2 and 4 will be the fastest. Everything you do at Michigan is geared toward making a run down the straightaways.”

On the season: “We’ve kind of hit a rookie slump lately, but most of our problems have been issues not of our own doing. Sometimes you can’t do anything about racing luck; sometimes you can. What we have to keep working on is making the car fast, making good decisions on pit road and not making any mistakes on the racetrack. If we keep doing that, things will fall into place.”

    Crew Chief Jay Guy

On Michigan: “Most drivers love Michigan because it’s wide and fast, and the truth is most crew chiefs like it, too. It’s a track that requires as much mechanical success as driver success. It’s fun when the team is as much a part of the equation as the driver. You push the car so hard – especially with the engine. Winning at Michigan is truly a team effort.”

    Jon Wood’s Season Highlights
    Best Starting Position: Second (Kentucky)
    Best Finishing Position: Second (Talladega)
    Most Money Won: $48,675 (Talladega)
