Mayfield’s Back – It’s been almost two months since Jeremy Mayfield has been seen behind the wheel of the No. 64 Miller High Life Light Dodge. His last race in Chicago was plagued with tire troubles and left the team with two demolished race cars and a 39th place finish. Mayfield is back at it this weekend for the Domino’s Pizza 250, pulling double-duty with his Cup car, making it a busy weekend going back and forth between garages.

In the Hunt – Mayfield may run a limited schedule in the Busch Series, which puts him deep in the driver’s standings, but he currently sits seventh in the NEXTEL Cup Series point standings. The 36-year old series veteran sits 429 points behind leader Tony Stewart. With only four races remaining in the hunt for the Chase; these next couple of weeks will be critical for Jeremy and his NEXTEL Cup team.

Chassis No. 08 – Blake Bainbridge and his MHLL team will take Chassis No. 08 to the track this weekend at Michigan. This is the same car that Mayfield drove at Vegas and Charlotte earlier this year, finishing 24th and 39th respectively.

Who’s Next? – Jamie McMurray will fill the seat of the No. 64 RWI Racing Inc. Dodge next weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. Mayfield will return to the seat of the Miller High Life Light Dodge on Sept. 3 for the Busch Series 300 at California Speedway. Mayfield’s remaining races for the 2005 season in the NBS will consist of; California, Dover, Kansas, Texas and Homestead.

“It definitely creates a challenge to work with this many different drivers in a year. I’ll just get used to having Jamie or Jeremy in the car and then we’ll switch to somebody else. But you know, this team has really come together and I think we’re learning a lot this year. I think week after week things keep getting better for this team and we’ve learned to adjust to each driver that jumps in the seat.”
