Domino's Pizza 250 - Bill Elliott Notes

BILL ELLIOTT “HUNGRY” FOR VICTORY IN NASCAR BUSCH SERIES EVENT IN MICHIGAN

Elliott To Make Debut in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge Charger in Michigan

Statesville, NC (August 15, 2005) – Unilever Foods and Evernham Motorsports announced today that Bill Elliott will make his first start of the season in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge Charger this weekend in the Domino’s Pizza 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Elliott has made three NASCAR Busch Series starts this season with one top-10 finish at Pikes Peak International Raceway last month.

Lisa Klauser, Vice President Integrated Marketing Capabilities, Unilever Foods Division, is thrilled to have the legendary driver become a part of the Hungry Drivers™ family of drivers.

“Bill Elliott is one of NASCAR’s greatest drivers and a long-time fan favorite. That being said, we are very proud to have him representing Unilever Foods’ and specifically, the five sponsoring brands of the No. 6 Dodge. With Bill driving the Lawry’s® Dodge in Michigan you can guarantee that the stands will be full of people cheering him on and supporting Unilever Foods.”

Michigan has long been one of Elliott’s best tracks performance-wise. In 53 NASCAR Nextel Cup starts, Elliott has an impressive record with seven wins, 17 top-five’s, 29 top-10’s, six pole awards and 1004 laps led. On the Busch side, Elliott only has two starts at Michigan. In 1993, he sat on the pole, however, an overheating problem forced him out of the race. The previous year, Elliott started 7th and finished 4th.

Elliott looks forward to returning to a track where he has seen much success over the years.

“I’ve always liked going to Michigan. I’ve just managed to have some decent success there in the past. I can’t really say why. It’s like I’ve said a million times, it’s just a track that suits my driving style. It’s like California, Kansas, Las Vegas or Indy – those racetracks that sort of favor how you drive and where you’re able to put it all together. I look forward to driving the No. 6 Lawry’s® Dodge Charger this weekend and to putting on a good show for Unilever Foods.”

Elliott, who retired from full time competition at the end of the 2003 season, has to his credit two Daytona 500 wins, 44 NASCAR Cup Series career victories and the 1988 NASCAR Winston Cup championship. A clear fan favorite, Elliott won the NMPA Most Popular Driver Award a record 16 times and in 1998 was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers of All Time.

Elliott will be back behind the wheel of the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge on October 22, 2005 in the Busch Series event at Memphis Motorsports Park.
