Domino's Pizza 250 - Michigan International Speedway
Newman Wins Back to Back Busch Races
Ryan Newman used an aggressive power move to pass Greg Biffle on a restart with only six laps remaining and Biffle had to fight with Carl Edwards for the second position at the checkered flag... No this is not a description of a Nextel Cup race this was from today’s Domino’s Pizza 250 Busch Series race at Michigan International Speedway. While Newman has yet to win a Nextel Cup race this season, he sure is putting a hurting on the Busch Series, winning his second consecutive race after. Newman now has a top-five finish in all four NBS races that he has entered this season. Rain cancelled qualifying earlier in the day, causing Newman to start the event from the 38th position. It didn’t take long for Newman to work his way toward the front, he was in the 14th position after only 10 laps into the race (and that included three laps of caution.) In the end, when the caution flag flew for oil on the track on lap 115, Greg Biffle was in the lead and had been strong in the closing laps, while Newman was in second. The green flag dropped with six laps to go and Newman grabbed the lead and won by 0.766 seconds over Biffle, who had his hands full with Edwards. The win is the third career Busch Series win for Newman, a NEXTEL Cup regular, who has made recent plans to compete in many more Busch races. In fact, today’s race featured 11 NEXTEL Cup regulars and one Cup part-timer. Clint Bowyer lead the most laps in the race, leading two times for a total of 62 laps, while Newman also led twice but he led for a total seven laps, just one less lap than he led last week in his win at Watkins Glen.
Rain Washes Out NBS Qualifying, Truex to Start from Pole

The field was set in accordance with the NASCAR Busch Series Rulebook giving the top starting position to points leader Martin Truex Jr. Clint Bowyer will start on the outside of row one in the second position, while Carl Edwards and Reed Sorenson start from the second row.
