The Great Clips team is taking chassis # 54 to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez this weekend. This is a brand new car.
Walker completed the three-day Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in January 2005.
Last weekend at California Speedway, Walker qualified 13th for the Stater Bros. 300 and finished 39th in the 150-lap event after an on-track incident on lap 49 sent Walker spinning into the outside retaining wall. The Great Clips team now sits in 15th position in the NASCAR Busch Series owner point standings.
Kasey Kahne will be back in the Great Clips Dodge at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 12th for the running of the Sam’s Town 300 and also March 19th for the running of the Aaron’ s312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Tyler’s thoughts on Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez:
“I‘m really looking forward to racing in Mexico City,” said Walker. “ Ihave never raced in another country andI think it is a good opportunity for NASCAR and the sponsors to grow. I haven’ t competed competitively on a road course
before, however I did go to the Bob Bondurant School of Racing and I think that experience will help me tremendously
this weekend.
“I think the biggest thing that I need to focus on this weekend is being cautious and knowing when to use the
brakes. I know I need to race smart and score a good finish for this Great Clips team.”
