On Lowe’s: “The Lowe’s Motor Speedway is a special place because it’s the home track for a lot of the drivers, including me. When I grew up racing the short racks around Asheville, N.C., I had dreams about racing at Charlotte. They may have smoothed the track, but it’s still going to be the same. You have to build a lot of adjustability into the car because the conditions constantly change there. One minute the car can be loose, the next it pushes. The secret is to be a step ahead with all your adjustments.”
On the season: “When you make selected starts, you pick your good tracks and you bring your best cars. That’s what we’re doing. We may not go to all the races, but when we do, we’re going to be fast.”
