Notes:
The running of the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway will be the first time Tyler has competed at the 1.5-mile oval.
The Great Clips team is taking chassis # 45 to Kentucky Speedway. This is the same car that competed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier this season (started eighth; finished 20th, Kasey Kahne driving) and Bristol Motor Speedway (started 11th; finished 35th, Tyler Walker driving)
The Great Clips team sits in 14th position in the NASCAR Busch Series driver point standings.
Last weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, Walker finished 19th after starting in the 14th position (qualifying was rained out and the field was determined by owner points). Walker ran as high as eighth, however a late race spin relegated the team to 19th in the 225-lap event.
Tyler’s Thoughts on Kentucky Speedway:
“I’m looking forward to putting last weekend behind us. We had a top-10 finish in store and I brushed the wall late in the race. I’ve had such an up and down season this year, I’m just really looking forward to turning it around.
“We tested Kentucky about a month ago and it went really well. It’s such a wide track and it seems to be fairly easy to pass on. Last year I practiced and qualified the Great Clips car for Kasey (Kahne) and got a good feel for how the track is. I’m looking forward to getting the Great Clips car back out front where it belongs.”
