United Way 300 presented by Yellow and Sprint - Jamie Mosley Notes

One of NASCAR’s Biggest Rivalries: Mosley vs. Weather
‘Keep the rain away and we could have big weekend’

LONDON, Ken. – As far as driver Jamie Mosley is concerned, his biggest rivalry this weekend at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway is Mother Nature.

“This is a tough sport and you have to fight a lot of things but the most frustrating ones are the ones you just can’t control, like the weather,” Mosley said. “That rain at Michigan our last time out was really frustrating.”

The Michigan race in August was to have been Mosley’s second in the Infinity Business Group-sponsored car but rain washed out qualifying. With a just a few NASCAR car owner points for his inaugural race, Mosley went home without even a chance to qualify.

“That’s a pretty hollow feeling. Getting out there and not getting the job done is one thing. Not even having the chance to do it is another,” Mosley said. “That’s a big reason we’re going to be watching the sky at Kansas. Nothing against any of the farmers out there but we’re really hoping for a three-day drought.”

The 35-year old Hazard, Ky., native Mosley has raced in the ARCA Series and the NASCAR Busch Series since 2002. Serving as a co-primary earlier this season, Infinity Business Group and Mosley teamed together once at Kentucky Speedway in June. In what he hopes will be his second start with the company’s backing, Mosley will pilot the #28 Infinity Business Group Ford from the Jay Robinson Racing stable at Kansas.

“We got off to a really good start with the Kentucky race. That was a test for Infinity Business Group but they liked what they saw in me, in Jay Robinson Racing and in the sport,” Mosley said. “Same as Michigan, we needed to go in there and qualify on speed; we did so, and ran well until a cut tire ended our day. But, we’re excited to get back to the track with Infinity Business Group. They’re a Kentucky-based company and I’m as ‘Blue Grass’ as it gets. Everyone involved is excited about the potential that this brings.”
