Kroger 200 - Stacy Compton Notes
ST Motorsports No. 59 Team Notes
Stacy Compton Quotes
On Indianapolis: “When you talk about racing in Indianapolis, it’s easy to think about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. But the truth is, Indianapolis Raceway Park is one of the great racetracks on our schedule, and the Kroger 200 traditionally is one of the best races of the year. It’s short-track racing at its best because you’re going to see a lot of give and take – you’re going to give a lot of other guys the bumper, and you’re going to get the bumper.”
On the season: “Although there’s no such thing as moral victories in racing, we’re really putting together some very strong races without the kind of finishes we deserve. We led some laps last wek at Gateway and were a constant Top-10 runner until we got swept up in somebody else’s accident. What we have to take out of that race is the fact we had a good car, we made good pit stops and we had good pit strategy. If we keep doing that, we’ll be all right.”
Crew Chief Chris Rice Quote
On Indianapolis: “You know going into a race at Indianapolis you’re going to spend a lot of time getting a car ready for 200 laps there, and you’re probably going to spend even more time putting it back together after the race. You always add extra braces in the front and rear bumpers because you know you’re going to hit people and people are going to hit you. By the time the race is over, everybody will have crumpled fenders. It’s short track racing at its best.”
