Shane Hmiel about Dover International Speedway:

“Dover is one of the tracks on the Busch series schedule that I have the least experience at. I’ve only competed in one Craftsman truck race and one Busch race there, and they were both last year. I didn’t run very well in either the truck or the car, but hopefully we can turn that around with the WINFUEL Chevy this weekend. Since we wrecked both of the cars that we were planning on taking to Dover last weekend at Charlotte, we are now taking BR10 the car that we’ve run at Phoenix and Richmond already. With some changes, BR10 ran up front at Phoenix and we had a chance to contend for the win until we got caught up in the wreck on the restart near the end of the race. At Richmond, BR10 was moving through the field at Richmond until we decided to pull a spring rubber out of the rear and that really messed up the handling on the car. Hopefully we can take everything that we learned at Phoenix and Richmond, and get this #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet back to winning form.”

Hmiel about the #32 WINFUEL team’s recent finishes:

“It’s really frustrating that we’ve had such fast race cars each weekend, but we don’t have the finishes to show for it for one reason or another. Our point’s position has definitely taken a hit since our last solid finish at Texas, and we need to start finishing races up front in order to work our way back up in the standings. The finishes that we’ve been having are not reflective of how hard this WINFUEL team works to prepare these cars. Dover is also the closest race that we run to WINFUEL’s headquarters in New Jersey, so we really want to put together a successful run this weekend for them.”

HMIEL, WINFUEL TEAM LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING ON THE “MONSTER MILE”

MOORESVILLE, NC (May 31, 2005) – Shane Hmiel and the #32 WINFUEL team have set very high standards for themselves this season in the NASCAR Busch Series because they know they are capable of achieving them. Since winning the Busch pole and following it up with a solid 10th place finish at Texas in mid-April, the #32 WINFUEL Chevy’s finishes have not reflected how fast and competitive the team has been.

“It’s really frustrating that we’ve had such fast race cars each weekend, but we don’t have the finishes to show for it for one reason or another,” the #32 WINFUEL driver said. “Our point’s position has definitely taken a hit since our last solid finish at Texas, and we need to start finishing races up front in order to work our way back up in the standings. The finishes that we’ve been having are not reflective of how hard this WINFUEL team works to prepare these cars. I didn’t run very well in either the truck or the car, but hopefully we can turn that around with the WINFUEL Chevy this weekend.”

After a tough weekend at home in Charlotte, which resulted in two wrecked race cars, the WINFUEL team has worked hard to prepare the primary and backup cars for this weekend’s event at the concrete “Monster Mile” in Dover, DE.

“Since we wrecked both of the cars that we were planning on taking to Dover last weekend at Charlotte, we are now taking BR10 the car that we’ve run at Phoenix and Richmond already. With some changes, BR10 ran up front at Phoenix and we had a chance to contend for the win until we got caught up in the wreck on the restart near the end of the race. The #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet team will again try to return to winning form this weekend at Dover International Speedway. Shane Hmiel is scheduled to be a guest on SPEED Channel’s popular Friday night show, “TRACKSIDE Live”, this Friday, June 4 at Dover. Live coverage of the MBNA 200 begins next Saturday, June 4 on FX at 1:00 p.m. ET.
