This is the same car Blaney raced last month at Richmond (started 20th, finished 42nd) until he was sidelined early after being involved in a lap-58 incident. • Blaney’s Best … Blaney’s best finish for Marsh Racing is a ninth-place effort at Richmond in September 2003. All totaled, the Hartford, Ohio, native owns seven top-five and 22 top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Busch Series with a pair of career-best runner-up efforts coming at Atlanta (3/13) and Darlington (9/4) in 1999.
  • David vs. Goliath … In 57 Busch Series starts, Marsh Racing, headquartered in Old Lyme, Conn., has earned three top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. In 2003, Blaney recorded three top-10s for Marsh Racing at Michigan (8/16), Richmond (9/5) and Atlanta (10/25).
  • Not Just NASCAR … In addition to its Busch Series efforts, Marsh Racing fields a C5 Corvette for Whelen Engineering owner Sonny Whelen in the SCCA SPEED World Challenge.

    DAVE BLANEY QUOTES:
How is the Busch race different from the Cup race?
“The Busch race is different because you’re on a tire budget. You only have so many sets of tires so you have to go after it differently. In Cup racing, you can put new tires on your car all day. In Busch racing, you have to figure out how your car is, when to put tires on, but you also have to think about when you can afford to put tires on. You also have to take into consideration what other people are doing. On the Cup side you can get off sequence with some other guys and try and work some pit strategy. It’s not really like that on the Busch side. The races are so short that you have to stick to your game plan pretty closely. I’m definitely excited about this weekend. The Whelen car has always run pretty good at Dover, so we’ll see what happens.”
