Dover 200 - Jon Wood Notes
ST Motorsports No. 47 Team Notes
Jon Wood Quotes
On Dover: "The thing you learn quick at Dover is trouble happens
fast and there's no little wrecks. We learned that the hard way last
June when we were involved in somebody else's problem. It's a great
track if you stay out of trouble. I have a couple Top-10 finishes there
in the Truck Series, so it's a good track. The tricky parts of the
speedway are the exits of Turns 2 and 4. It's so tight there and if
somebody spins, it's going to collect a bunch of cars. The best way to
avoid that is to be in front of the trouble."
On the season: "We've built a strong foundation for the rest of the
season - and the future. It's been a big jump from the trucks to the
Busch Series, but we've learned together. We're going to tracks for the
second time and we have a much better idea of what works and what
doesn't. I believe you'll see us finishing real strong in the final
seven races."
Crew Chief Jay Guy Quote
On Dover: "When you race at Dover, you approach it like a giant
Bristol. The concrete is really hard on the brakes, hard on the car and
hard on the driver. The car has to be durable, yet flexible enough to
roll easily through the corners. The most overlooked parts on the car at
Dover are the brakes. You have to have a good braking system - one that
helps you slow down at the end of the straightaways but not so much that
it kills your momentum."
