    Shane Hmiel about Darlington Raceway:
“I am really looking forward to getting to Darlington this weekend to try and get our season back on track. The WINFUEL team has had some really bad luck the past few weeks and it’s comforting to know we are going to Darlington because it is one of my favorite tracks. We are taking our favorite Busch car BR06, so I know that we will be fast and we should compete for the win. I’m also running the #08 WINFUEL Chevy in the Nextel Cup race this weekend. When we decided that we were going to run seven selected Nextel Cup races this season, Darlington was one track that I really wanted on our schedule.”

Shane about Mother’s Day weekend and his mom, Lisa Hmiel:
“Mother’s Day is this weekend, and I am very luck to have a supportive mom who is involved in my career. My mom Lisa travels to almost all of the races and keeps everyone straight. If I ever need anything, it’s nice to know that mom is there to take care of things. She has always been influential in not only my personal life, but also in my racing career.”

REMINDER: Braun Racing will hold a press conference at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6 in the Darlington Raceway infield Media Center.

HMIEL HOPES TO TAME “THE LADY IN BLACK”, GET SEASON BACK ON TRACK

MOORESVILLE, NC (May 3, 2005) – Darlington Raceway is called the “Track Too Tough to Tame”, but Shane Hmiel is hoping to make nice with the “Lady in Black” this weekend. In the past two NASCAR Busch series races, Hmiel’s #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet has been caught up in accidents that were unavoidable. This weekend, the WINFUEL team has two chances to get their season back on the right track as they compete in both the Busch and Nextel Cup series events.

“I am really looking forward to getting to Darlington this weekend to try and get our season back on track,” Shane said. “The WINFUEL team has had some really bad luck the past few weeks and it’s comforting to know we are going to Darlington because it is one of my favorite tracks.”

“We are taking our favorite Busch car BR06, so I know that we will be fast and we should compete for the win. I’m also running the #08 WINFUEL Chevy in the Nextel Cup race this weekend. When we decided that we were going to run seven selected Nextel Cup races this season, Darlington was one track that I really wanted on our schedule.”

This weekend, the spotlight will also be on the women in the garage area as the NASCAR family celebrates Mother’s Day in their own special way. Braun Racing associate sponsor, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, is the organization responsible for founding and nationally popularizing Mother’s Day. Both the #32 Busch and #08 Cup cars will be carrying a special Mother’s Day wish on the deck lid this weekend at Darlington Raceway.

“Mother’s Day is this weekend, and I am very luck to have a supportive mom who is involved in my career,” Shane said. "My mom Lisa travels to almost all of the races and keeps everyone straight. If I ever need anything, it’s nice to know that mom is there to take care of things. She has always been influential not only in my personal life, but also in my racing career.”

Shane Hmiel has a double date with “The Lady in Black” this coming weekend as he competes in both the Busch and Nextel Cup series races at Darlington Raceway. Live coverage of the Diamond Wood Plywood 200 Busch series race begins Friday night on FX at 7:30 p.m. EST. Saturday night coverage of the Dodge Charger 500 Nextel Cup series race begins live on Fox at 7:00 p.m. EST.
