NOTES:
The running of the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway will be the sixth time Kasey has competed at the 1.366-mile asphalt oval.
The Great Clips team is taking chassis #36 to Darlington. This car competed earlier this season at California Speedway (started 13th; finished 39th with driver Tyler Walker) and Texas Motor Speedway (started 21st; finished 1st with Kahne behind the wheel).
The Great Clips team sits in 16th position in the overall NASCAR Busch Series points. Last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, substitute driver Casey Mears finished 26th after starting 21st in the 120-lap event.
Kasey’s thoughts on Darlington Raceway:
“I really like racing at Darlington because it’s such a unique track. It’s a track that wears out your tires quickly, but it’s a fun track to race on. I’m looking forward to racing under the lights, it just seems more exciting.
“It’s a little harder to pass with the addition of the safer walls because they took away almost 30 inches of racing. We’re taking car No. 36, which is the same car that we won Texas in, so hopefully we can have the same performance at Darlington and take the Great Clips car back to Victory Lane!”
