    Jon Wood Quotes
On Darlington: “This will be my first race at Darlington in a stock car, but I’ve got two Top-10 finishes there in three starts in the trucks. I’ve been coming here long enough with my father’s race team to know you have to race the racetrack. Even if you do everything perfectly, there’s always a chance one of the walls will reach out and grab you. The goal is to finish on the lead lap. If we do that, I know the car has been good enough all year to challenge for a good Top-10 finish.”

On the season: “Well, it’s taken me 10 races to figure out how to get good finishes and run in the Top Five. I’ve learned just now that you have to finish these races to finish up front. We were second last week at Talladega, and we’ve deserved these kinds of finishes all year. We’ve had outstanding cars and we’ve run in the Top five and Top eight all year. Clorox deservers this, my team deserves it, ST Motorsports deserves it. It’s just a dream.”

    Crew Chief Jay Guy
On Darlington: “Before you get to Darlington, you spend a lot of time beefing-up the fenders because there’s a good chance the car will bounce off one of the walls, especially Turn 2. It’s rare to see a car not skip off one of the walls there during practice, qualifying or the race. So much is in the driver’s hands at Darlington, which is one reason why they love the track so much. There’s a tremendous amount of respect and accomplishment that comes with winning at Darlington.”

    Jon Wood’s Season Highlights
    Best Starting Position: Fourth (Atlanta)
    Best Finishing Position: Second (Talladega)
    Most Money Won: $48,675 (Talladega)
    Laps Led: One (Nashville)
