    Jon Wood Quotes

On Daytona: “We’re bringing the same car that qualified on the outside pole at Daytona last year and finished second at Talladega earlier this year. All we’ve done is fix the front bumper and fine tuned it a little more. Daytona in July is a lot different than Daytona in February because the track is hot and slippery in July. Friday night’s race will come down to handling. The driver who can work the bottom, middle and outside grooves will be the one out front.”

On the season: “We’re still finding our way, and we’re still well within reach of the Top 10. As long as we keep making progress, we’ll be fine. We’re starting to come back to tracks for the second time, and that’s going to be real important. We have some notes and experience to fall back on, so it should be easier the second time around.”

    Crew Chief Jay Guy

On Daytona: “When you think about restrictor plate racing, you think of three-wide, 10-deep packs of traffic. But Daytona in July is different. There will be packs of traffic, but they’ll break up in smaller, more manageable packs because it’s more about handling than speed. You want a car that has a lot of grip in the corners so your driver can keep the throttle flat on the floor all the way around.”
