Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this particular combination of left- and right-side tires to Atlanta . . . this is the only Nextel Cup track at which these tire codes will be run in 2005 . . . all three NASCAR series will run the same tire codes this weekend, though the Nextel Cup and Busch tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle," while the Craftsman Truck tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler" . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one-mile in length, teams are required to runner inner liners in their tires at Atlanta . . . inflation of the inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "Atlanta is a high wear track, so that is always one of our main concerns when we build a tire for there. Comparing this year's codes to last, the construction for the Atlanta tire set-up remained the same, though we came back with a tougher, more wear resistant compound all the way around."
