AutoZone and ppc Racing Announce Sponsorship Extension
AutoZone, the nation’s leading retailer of automotive parts and accessories with over 3,600 stores in the US and Mexico, is also the title sponsor of the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Series.
“With Kenny Wallace and ppc Racing, we are certain that our customers and all fans of the NASCAR Busch Series will see exciting racing,” said Bill Rhodes, President and CEO of AutoZone. "Kenny is a great spokesperson for AutoZone and racing, and we are confident NASCAR fans will continue to support this team and AutoZone in this partnership.”
“We are extremely grateful to AutoZone for the confidence it has placed in ppc Racing and Kenny Wallace,” said Greg Pollex, owner of ppc Racing. “The AutoZone sponsorship has been a tremendous success ever since the July 30th announcement was made during the Wallace Family Tribute in St. Louis. We have a lot of exciting things planned with AutoZone as we prepare for next season. We will continue to educate fans and consumers about vehicle maintenance, safety and equipment as we contend for the Busch Series championship.”
This weekend’s NASCAR Busch Series event marks AutoZone’s tenth race as the primary sponsor of ppc Racing’s #22 Ford.
“Our sponsorship during the second half of the 2005 race season was a good first step for AutoZone,” said Rhodes. “Now, we are ready to move to the front of the pack with ppc Racing and Kenny Wallace in 2006. On behalf of the 50,000 AutoZoners everywhere, we congratulate and thank the Wallace family for their contributions to racing.”
