Funai 250 - Jason Leffler Notes

Jason Leffler will make his 52nd NASCAR Busch Series start in the FUNAI 250 at Richmond International Raceway this Friday night.

JASON LEFFLER ON RICHMOND"We didn't test at Richmond and they've repaved the track, which I hear has made it really fast and really smooth with a lot of grip, so we'll just have to see what we've got when we get out there. We've got a brand new car that we're taking - a sister car to the one we had last week at Gateway - which we were pretty happy with. This is a night race just like last week so we'll have to adjust the car to make up for the dropping temperatures throughout the race. The good news this week is that we get a final practice in the evening on Thursday so it will take a little of the guess work out of it. Our car got pretty tight as the evening wore on and temperatures dropped last week, so we'll probably take a look at how we can do a little bit better job of keeping up with the track changes. It will be interesting to see how the track reacts.

"Richmond has been an interesting place for me over the years. I've taken provisionals to get in and I've started from the pole. Qualifying is pretty important on a short track like this. It's hard to make up the ground you've already lost if you don't qualify somewhere up front. You don't want to get behind the eight ball before the race event starts. This Haas Automation team has really been on top if its game this year in qualifying though, so hopefully we won't have to worry about anything like that. We're looking forward to getting to Richmond. Really, we look forward to going anywhere right now. We've worked out a lot of the bumps that bothered us in the beginning of the season and we think we're a contender to win every time we unload. It's fun to be a part of this team right now. We've got all the tools we need to be successful and it's just a matter of time before we get to victory lane."
