Funai 250 - Greg Biffle Notes

Funai 250
Richmond International Raceway, 5/14/04

Greg Biffle
Team: No. 60 Charter Communications Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Brad Parrott
Chassis: JR-75 (new race car)

Greg Biffle on racing at Richmond International Raceway:
“We had a really good test session in the Busch car at Richmond last weekend and I believe much of what we learned will carry over to the Cup car. They re-did the track surface it’s and really smooth and really fast. I think we’ll definitely see all of the qualifying records fall this weekend.

“Because the surface is new, I think it will take a while for a second groove to come in. I’m not positive, but it will take time before guys get comfortable running a higher groove. I still think we’ll see some good racing there this weekend though. Richmond has been a good track for me, and I’m anxious to get there and hopefully post a couple good finishes in both cars.”

Crew Chief Brad Parrott on racing at Richmond International Raceway:
“Since they just repaved the service we thought it would be a good idea to go up there and test. We had a good test session there and the track is very smooth and really fast. Based on what we saw and what Greg felt, it will be a one-groove track for most of the weekend. I’m sure some guys will get brave and try to run outside but it’s going to be slick up there. I anticipate a good weekend for the Charter Communications Team.”
