Goulds Pumps/ITT Industries 250 - Jason Leffler Notes

LEFFLER AND HAAS AUTOMATION RACING TEAM WELCOME FOUR STAR GENERAL TO PIKES PEAK

Charlotte, NC (July 26, 2004) - While Jason Leffler and his Haas Automation Racing team travel to Pikes Peak International Speedway they will be welcoming four star general, General Lance W. Lord. The General, an avid NASCAR fan, will be participating in the pre-race ceremonies along with supporting the No.00 Monte Carlo.

The event of General Lord could not come at a better time. Support for all three military divisions is strongly felt throughout the NASCAR family and the Haas CNC Automation Racing team is very excited about the opportunity to show its support for the troops overseas and at home fighting for their country.

"It is always a great honor to have someone that distinguished with us at a race," said Leffler. "Its great to have ties to any of the divisions of the armed forces and to have the honor of having a four star general visit us at Pikes Peak is an exciting thing."

General Lord is a very distinguished official. He is head command of the Air Force Space Command in Colorado Springs, CO. Over the years General Lance Lord has followed the NASCAR circuit and welcomes the occasion to be involved first hand. "On behalf of the almost 40,000 men and women of Air Force Space Command, I want to thank the Pike's Peak International Raceway, NASCAR and the entire Colorado Springs community for your outstanding support to our military, civilian members and their families.", General Lance W. Lord, USAF, Commander, Air Force Space Command.

Leffler and his Haas Automation Racing team are heading into Pikes Peak with a third place finish last weekend in New Hampshire and are looking forward to having a successful weekend with the General by their side. The Goulds Pumps / ITT Industries Salute to the Troops 250 presented by Dodge will air on TNT at 3:30 PM (CT) and can be heard on MRN Radio.
