Robby Gordon is no stranger to Victory Lane at Phoenix International Raceway. Gordon claimed the checkered flag in a CART race in 1995.

Gordon has led laps in three of the last four races, Richmond, Kansas and Charlotte. Gordon won the Richmond race and led laps 1-33 at Kansas Speedway and laps 79-82 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Although he failed to lead a lap last weekend in Atlanta, Gordon recorded a fourth place finish.

Gordon has averaged 125 points per start in his 23 Busch Series starts. If he had started all 31 races to date and maintained that average, Gordon would stand in fifth position right now in the NASCAR Busch Series Points race.

Robby Gordon’s Comments on Phoenix International Raceway…

"Phoenix should be another strong race for us, it’s a track that I am very familiar with and have had success there in the past. I really want to qualify up front this weekend and get the Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet into the lead early on. Last week we made it tougher than it should have been by qualifying 21st. If we can get to the front early on and have our normal lightening fast pit stops, it could be our day to take the Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet to victory lane again.”

“I know I keep saying it, but this race team gets better and better each week. We didn’t have a single car ten months ago and now we have built our team into one of the best in the Busch Series. We compete each week against the best of the best, Richard Childress Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Roush Racing and others and each week we are right up front. I am proud of the effort of our entire team and I look forward to growing even more next season. We still have two races left this year and our goal as a team is two more wins.
