Leffler Grabs First Busch Win at Nashville
Jason Leffler is a pickin’ and a grinnin’ after scoring his first career NASCAR Busch series victory at the Nashville Superspeedway in the early hours of Sunday morning. Leffler inherited the lead from Kyle Busch when Busch lost his gamble on fuel mileage with four laps to go, bringing out the caution flag when he spun in the infield grass. Leffler, who was playing the fuel-mileage game himself, was able to coast to the checkered flag under caution. Leffler’s first win comes in his 56th series start. Points leader and event pole sitter Martin Truex Jr. crossed the stripe in the second position, followed by Clint Bowyer in third. Mike Bliss and Ron Hornaday rounded out the all-Chevrolet top five. The Federated Auto Parts 300 featured a 2-hour and 48-minute rain delay.
Truex Wins Nashville Pole, Again
Break out the brooms, Martin Truex Jr. has some sweeping to do. Truex won the pole position for the Federated Auto Parts 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway to give him a sweep of the top starting positions at Nashville this season. Truex’s lap of 29.338 seconds, at an average speed of 163.569, did not match his track record set in April but earned him his fourth pole of the season. Jason Leffler will join Turex on the front row, starting second, while Kyle Busch and Bobby Hamilton Jr. will start from row two.
