Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 - Rookie Qualifying Quotes

KYLE BUSCH, #5 LOWE'S CHEVROLET:

"We've been doing really well all year long. In the beginning of the season, we just weren't quite getting the finishes we wanted, but since Bristol, where we got a third, and Texas, where we got second, and Nashville, where we nearly won, we've been really running strong and just trying to be there at the end of the race and get our top-fives. You know, I've got a great coach on the radio who is Lance McGrew, my crew chief. Everybody else on the whole team, all the guys at the shop and here at the track, they do an awesome job day in and day out and make everything possible for me, and they make my job look easy. It's definitely not easy, but they make it seem that way, and they make it a lot easier for me."

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR MARTIN TRUEX JR., SINCE YOU TWO HAVE SWAPPED THE POINTS LEAD IN THE PAST WEEK? "I hope that we're able to race against each other all year. Martin, he's a great competitor, and we try to race each other as clean as we can. He only ran 10 races last year, so you could consider him kind of a rookie, but he is a veteran. He's raced in the Busch North Series for many, many years. We have a lot of fun out there together. He waxed us at St. Louis and we were able to return the favor in Richmond, so maybe tomorrow he'll be able to come through where he qualified at and meet up with us at the front. We're just going to kind of go out there for our car, the Lowe's Chevy, and try to get what we can, and maybe just hang around in the top-five and watch Jason Keller and Ron Hornaday and Tim Fedewa, some of these veterans, and see what they do for the end of the race."

WHAT'S IT BEEN LIKE SINCE WINNING A RACE LAST WEEK, AND DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'VE GOTTEN A MONKEY OFF YOUR BACK? "There's no real monkey that was on our backs so far, per se, but we've been able to get everything together and the guys at the shop are now confident, and I believe that I'm becoming more confident behind the wheel. Lance (McGrew) has pretty much been that way the entire year. We're just kind of gelling a little bit better every week, and if you do that week in and week out, pretty soon, I don't know, hopefully we're able to do this every week. That would be pretty cool. You're going to have your ups and downs of course and so far our downs have not been that low, so hopefully we can keep them that way. We just look forward to going to every race track every week and doing the best job that we possibly can to keep our points up there and try and finish in the top-five."
