McMurray Wins Fourth Straight at The Rock
Jamie McMurray continued his love affair with the place affectionately known as “The Rock.” McMurray captured his fourth consecutive Busch series win at the North Carolina Speedway on Saturday afternoon, tying him with Mark Martin in the record books. McMurray passed leader Kevin Harvick with 20 laps remaining and held off Martin Truex by .411 seconds to secure the win. Truex, who led a race-high 68 laps on the day, finished in the runner-up spot for the second consecutive race at Rockingham. Kevin Harvick came home in the third position, followed by Michael Waltrip and David Green in the top five.
Benson Captures Rockingham Pole
Johnny Benson captured his first career Busch series pole position on Friday afternoon, winning the top-starting spot for the Goody's Headache Power 200 at North Carolina Speedway. Benson turned in a qualifying lap of 23.903 seconds, at an average speed of 153.169 mph, to knock David Stremme off the top spot. Stremme will start from the outside pole, while David Green and Kasey Kahne make out the second row on the starting grid.
