Carquest Auto Parts 300 - Kenny Wallace Notes

Lowe’s Motor Speedway
Carquest Auto Parts 300

Kenny Wallace on Lowe’s Motor Speedway…
“Everyone wants to do well at Lowe’s Motor Speedway because it is the home track for most teams. The best part about racing in Charlotte is that you can sleep in your own bed and get up and go to the racetrack. With all the traveling we do throughout the year, it is nice to be able to spend some extra time at home with my wife and kids.

“The speedway is such a great facility, and the racing there is great. You can race twowide all the way around the track, which is great for the fans. I am looking forward to getting the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger car up front.

“[Crew chief] Chris Rice and the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger team have worked really hard on our 1.5-mile package. We’ve got a few top-10 finishes under our belt in the last few weeks, so this is an opportunity for us to show the rest of the field that we are a contender at every track we go to.”

Kenny Wallace Happenings…
Wallace will appear at Speed Street in downtown Charlotte Thursday, May 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Stacker 2 Splash of Energy Display. He will sign autographs and meet his fans.

Wallace will also sign autographs at the W&H souvenir trailer Saturday, May 29 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The trailer will be located on Lowe’s Motor Speedway property.

Stacker 2 Happenings…
Wallace will visit West Mecklenburg High School Thursday, May 27 at 1:10 p.m., for the ninth stop on the 2004 YJ Stinger’s “Race to Bee Safe” program. Wallace will talk to the students about the responsibility of being behind the wheel of a car. The program has an added bonus this year: one student will win a $20,000 scholarship by writing an essay about what the program meant to them. Wallace and the Race to Bee Safe crew will take the summer break off before heading to Dover, Del., in September. The program has eight additional stops upcoming this fall.

Get to Know Jack…
One-year-old Jack Sable suffers from a chromosome disorder that affects many people in the United States. When Stacker 2 heard about Jack and his condition, it took the family under its wing. For every lap Wallace and the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger team completes this year, NVE, the parent company of Stacker 2, will donate $1 to the Sable family to help pay for Jack’s medical costs. So far this season, Wallace and the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger team have earned $2,203 for the cause.

“I intend on completing every lap I can for Jack Sable and the Sable family,” Wallace said. “At the end of the year I would like nothing more than to have Jack and his family at our table at the banquet.”
