Mr. Goodcents 300 - Stacy Compton Notes
Stacy Compton and Kingsford/Bush’s Baked Beans
ST Motorsports No. 59 Team Notes
Stacy Compton Quotes
On Kansas: “I love Kansas. We’ve always qualified well there (with two top-seven starting spots), but we’ve raced well, too (with two top-12 finishes). The track may have been patterned after the Chicagoland Speedway, but it’s different. If you have any kind of exit speed coming off Turns 2 and 4, you’re going to be really fast.”
On the season: “We’re not thinking about points. We’re well within reach of the Top-10, but we’re going to concentrate on improving our qualifying package, on our race package and getting consistent top-10 finishes. If we do that, the points will come. We want to finish the season strong and create momentum for next season.”
Crew Chief Gary Cogswell Quote
On Kansas: “The race at Kansas is a real challenge. It’s tough on engines because you’re running such high rpms; it’s tough on the car because you really have to grab that inside groove in the corners. We’ve always had a good package for Kansas, and we’ll use a lot of those notes and apply some new wisdom to see if we can make it better.”
