KANSAS CITY NOTES OF INTEREST

The Mr. Goodcents 300 will be Jason Leffler’s second NASCAR Busch Series race at the 1.5-mile facility.

The Haas Automation team will utilize chassis number 301 for this weekend’s event in Kansas City. This is the same Haas Automation Chevrolet the team utilized in Las Vegas earlier this season as well as in the first event at Nashville (Tenn.) Speedway en route to a ninth place finish. Leffler qualified the car inside the Top-10 in both of those races.

Jason Leffler has five previous Kansas City appearances. Leffler made his first appearance in the 2001 Protection One 400 Cup Series race, where he earned the pole position for the event. He has also made two starts the Truck Series, capturing one pole. He also has one previous Busch Series start.

Leffler’s most recent Kansas City appearance came in the 2004 Cup Series event, where he started sixth and finished 30th driving the No. 0 NetZero Chevrolet.

Leffler remains in third place in the NASCAR Busch Series driver point standings, 478 points behind leader Martin Truex, Jr. The Haas Automation Racing team holds down fourth place in the owner point standings, only 75 points out of third.
