Stacy Compton Quotes
On Gateway: “This is a real good time for this race team to hit a track like Gateway. A flat track also presents a greater challenge to a race team because you need the complete package. The car has to be fast, but it has to be tough. You slide around a lot in the corners, so you want a car that will stay under you.”
On the season: “We’re coming off a third-place finish at California, and I think we’re in position to make a significant run. The whole key is to be consistent. You have to be good enough to take advantage of good situations like we did last week and good enough to salvage good finishes when you’re not in good situations. This is the best situation I’ve been in since I’ve been in NASCAR.”
Crew Chief Jeff Chandler Quote
On Gateway: “We practice, qualify and race in the same day, so that doesn’t give a race team a lot of time to look for answers. I think that helps us because we’ve got a pretty good feel for these Fords and what Stacy needs, so that should be a plus. I wouldn’t mind seeing us do a lot more of the same-day shows because it rewards the teams that come to the track really prepared.”
