Charter 250 - Robert Pressley Notes
Robert Pressley and Clorox/Wisk
ST Motorsports No. 47 Team Notes
Robert Pressley Quotes:
On Gateway: "It's been seven years since I've been there in a Busch Series car, but I raced there a couple times in the last two years in a truck. The thing that strikes you about Gateway is it's a speedway that requires a short track and road course mentality. It's a track that can really use up your car if you don't pace yourself. It's not important to be the fastest guy in the first 20 laps. It's important to be the guy has the most-adjustable car so he can be the fastest for the final 20 laps."
On the season: "We've been through a lot as a team this year. First we changed to Fords, then I had a couple difficult weeks with my dying father and with the sudden death of Bob Shano, one of the transporter drivers. Through it all, they've managed to improve the cars and make us competitive each week."
Crew Chief Steve Plattenberger Quote:
On Gateway: "This racetrack is a real challenge. You have to be able to get through and off the corners. It's a flat track, so you almost need to prepare the car like it's a road course. As a crew chief, your challenge is to make sure the driver doesn't burn up the right-front tire. Your first goal at Gateway is to keep the car on the lead lap all day, then make your run in the final 50 miles."
