Truex Dominates Gateway
Young Martin Truex Jr. ended his Saturday at Gateway International Raceway in a familiar position, at the front of the field. Truex had the fastest car in both practice sessions on Saturday, went on to win the pole position for the Charter 250, then visited victory lane in the main event after leading the most laps, and took the lead in the point standings to boot. Truex outran veteran Ron Hornaday by 6.601 seconds to capture his third career Busch series victory. Hornaday crossed the finish line in the second position, followed by Jason Keller in third. Bobby Hamilton Jr. and rookie Kyle Busch rounded out the top five in the finishing order.
