Truex Claims First Dover Win
Busch series points leader Martin Truex Jr. claimed his fifth victory of the season, winning the Stacker 200 at Dover International Speedway. Truex inherited the lead on lap 189 of 200 when leader Kenny Wallace ran out of fuel and held on to take the checkered flag. Wallace led the most laps on the day, pacing the field for 83 laps, while Truex led three times for a total of 47 laps. Truex is now tied with rookie Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle for the most wins this season. Truex averaged 122.013 mph in the victory and won the event under caution when Mark Martin spun on the final lap. Mike McLaughlin, in his fourth start behind the wheel of the No. 25 Ford, finished in the runner-up position, while pole-sitter Kasey Kahne finished third after leading 63 laps on the day. Jason Leffler and Johnny Sauter rounded out the top five in the finishing order.
Kahne Wins Second Consecutive Busch Pole
Kasey Kahne won his second consecutive Busch series pole position, taking the top starting spot for the Stacker 200 presented by YJ Stinger on Friday afternoon at Dover International Speedway. Kahne qualified for the event in 22.879 seconds, at an average speed of 157.350 mph, to grab the pole for Saturday’s race. Kahne fell short of the track qualifying record set in June earlier this season by David Green with a lap of 22.797 seconds, at 157.916 mph. Points leader Martin Truex Jr. will start from the outside pole, followed by Mike McLaughlin and rookie Kyle Busch in row two.
