Diamond Hill Plywood Co. 200 - Greg Biffle Notes

Greg Biffle
Team: No. 60 Charter Communications Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Brad Parrott
Chassis: JR-77 (This is the same car Biffle was leading with at Rockingham prior to experiencing some mechanical problems that eliminated him from the event. This is also the same car Jeff Burton won both Darlington races with in 2002.)

Greg Biffle on racing at DARLINGTON RACEWAY: “I’ve been looking forward to running Darlington since we had the good run there in the fall Cup race. We had the car to beat, but a broken flywheel took us out of contention. I’ve always enjoyed racing at Darlington because the uniqueness of the track puts a lot in the driver’s hands. It’s going to be a little different this weekend because we’ll be racing on a smaller track so to speak. They’ve put in SAFER barriers there, which have reduced the corner width by about 26 to 30 inches. You use up every bit of racetrack at Darlington, so it will take some time to get readjusted with the layout.

“I’ll feel pretty good about our chances in both cars this weekend. We had a solid run in the Cup car last weekend in Atlanta and carrying that momentum into Darlington will be a plus. The Busch cars have been strong every week and we’ve just had unfortunate things happen that have kept us from getting the finishes we deserve. Brad (Parrott) has a pretty good track record at Darlington with Roush Busch cars, so hopefully I can keep that going with a good run this weekend.”

Crew Chief Brad Parrott on racing at DARLINGTON RACEWAY: “I love Darlington. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks and a lot of that has to do with the success I’ve had at the track with the Roush Racing Busch Program. We won both races there with Jeff Burton in 2002 and we’re taking that same racecar. Greg gets around the track really well, but there are some unknowns going into the weekend because of the new SAFER barrier. He doesn’t seem to have a problem adapting to new environments, so I think we’ll be good. The Charter Team is rested up and we’re prepared for this race. We’re all ready to get our heads back in the game and go out and win some of these races.”
