Winn-Dixie 250 - David Stremme Notes
Stremme Looking for Another Top Finish at Daytona
Mooresville, NC (June 29, 2004) – David Stremme posted his career best finish of second last weekend at The Milwaukee Mile and now he travels to Daytona International Speedway for the Winn-Dixie 250. Stremme turned heads at the start of the season by qualifying fourth and finishing sixth at Daytona in his first start driving the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. He is looking for more of the same restrictor-plate racing success this Friday night.
“I am confident we will have a fast TRIMSPA Dodge this weekend,” said Stremme. “Things happen quickly at Daytona and if we stay out of trouble we should have a good run. We came close to winning the race last weekend but I let it slip away. Everyone tells me you have to lose some to win some.”
While Stremme’s run at Milwaukee all but proved he was capable of winning a Busch Series race, Team TRIMSPA’s rollercoaster ride of a season keeps Stremme from being overly confident about picking up his first Busch Series victory at Daytona this weekend.
“I think our run at Milwaukee shows how far Team TRIMSPA has matured through the extreme highs and lows we have had this year,” said Stremme. “We know the disappointment of posting a DNF for the second week in a row and dropping to 19th in points. But we also know what it is like to run in the top five, break track records and compete for the win. Our program is really coming together and I think that will continue to show the second half of the season. The most important thing for us is to build for next season and try to win races this year. If we accomplish that then we should be able to make it into the top 10 in points"
Also adding to the competition this weekend will be the final weigh-in and grand prize presentation for the TRIMSPA Dream Body Tune Up. This competition awards cash prizes to the NASCAR Busch Series team members who lose the most weight by using TRIMSPA Formula X32.
“I know our three man team of Tab Smith, Ed ‘Tuna’ Susen, and Todd Braun have made sure not to miss a beat taking their TRIMSPA the last few weeks because there is big money at stake this weekend,” said Stremme. “This competition has been an incredible life changer for the participants in the garage, both financially and in their health.”
The TRIMSPA Dream Body Tune Up and the Winn-Dixie 250 Busch Series race will both take place at Daytona International Speedway this Friday evening July 2nd. The race will be televised at 7:30 p.m. eastern time on FX and will broadcast nationally on radio stations affiliated with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
