Winn-Dixie 250 - Daytona International Speedway

Wallace Emerges as Victor in Daytona
Following a wild final lap in the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway, Mike Wallace emerged as the victor. Wallace, who entered the final lap in the fifth position, was the benefactor of contact between the leaders to claim his first Busch series win since 1994. First, Jason Leffler got into the back of leader Michael Waltrip, sending him spinning off to the inside of the track. Leffler then tried to block Dale Earnhardt Jr. and ran himself and Earnhardt into the outside wall, allowing Wallace to duck past and take the surprising win by 0.116 seconds over Leffler. Leffler was later issued a one-second penalty for rough driving, dropping him to 13th in the finishing order. The win is the fourth career win for Wallace and his first series win at Daytona. Greg Biffle finished in the second position, followed by points leader Martin Truex Jr. in third. Robert Pressley garnered his best finish of the season, coming home in fourth while pole-sitter Mike Bliss rounded out the top five.
