Target House 300 - Jason Leffler Notes
LONG BEACH NATIVE TO SHARE NASCAR SUCCESS STORY WITH LOCAL STUDENTS
Harrisburg, NC (August 27, 2004) – Students at Chaparral Elementary School in Ladera Ranch, CA will be in for a treat when Jason Leffler along with his No. 00 Netzero/Haas Automation Chevrolet make a detour in route to Fontana, CA for the September 4th CaliforniaSpeedway.com 300, NASCAR Busch Series event, for a visit on Wednesday September 1st.
California native Leffler will be joined for the visit and the race by Woodland Hills based sponsor, NetZero, the leader in value priced internet service. In addition, Leffler’s team, Haas CNC Racing, is owned by Oxnard native and successful businessman, Gene Haas.
Earlier in the season Leffler, who now stands third in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings, got his first pole of the 2004 NBS season at California Speedway and returns the second time around looking to repeat as the pole sitter and add a home state victory to his accomplishments on the season.
During Leffler’s visit to Chaperral Elementary School he will take the opportunity to stress the importance of attending school and getting involved in something that you have a passion for. Kids will also get the first hand chance to see the No.00 NetZero/Haas Automation Chevrolet race car and transporter during the visit.
Leffler, a Long Beach, CA native is excited about going home and engaging the students in a sport that shaped his life.
“Going home is always so much fun,” said Leffler. “Having the opportunity to visit these elementary school kids is great. I like being able to tell people how I got started in racing and stress to them how important staying in school and staying on the right path is in order to be successful later in life.”
