Biffle Gases and Goes to Victory Lane at Fontana
Greg Biffle overcame a quite a few adversities to take the checkered flag in the Stater Bros. 300 at California Speedway. Biffle suffered engine problems and oil pressure woes, all while his cooling system broke and blew a steady stream of hot air in his face. Through it all, Biffle, the 2002 Busch series champion, had the quickest “gas and go” stop as the race was in the closing laps and went on to score his second victory of the season and the 13th of his career. Biffle, who led 12 laps on the day, outran Tony Stewart to the finish line by 5.323 seconds. Stewart, making a rare Busch series appearance, finished in the second position, while Stacy Compton crossed the finish line in third. Rounding out the top five in the finishing order were Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne.

Last week’s winner at Talladega Martin Truex will start the event from the outside pole position, while Kevin Harvick and Jeremy Mayfield start from row two.
