Stacy Compton Quotes

On Chicagoland: “One of the problems that comes with a new track is new asphalt. It’s taken three years for the pavement to wear down and lose some of its grip. As the pavement loses its grip, it becomes a better track because you can move off that inside groove to make passes. We’re coming back this year with a new Ford and new tires, so I think it could be real interesting.”

On the season: “When we blew the tire and crashed on the 25th lap last week at Daytona, it put a little dint in our momentum. With the change in crew chiefs, however, I think we’ll be right back at full speed because we’re bringing another approach, another mind to the table. Sometimes you have to approach a situation from a different angle. Jeff Chandler took this team to another level, but I’m looking forward to the next crew chief taking us even further.”

Crew Chief Chris Carrier Quote

On Chicagoland: “First, it’s quite an honor to be picked as the interim crew chief for this race team. The one thing that strikes you about this team is they have excellent equipment, a great driver and all the tools it takes to win. It’s just a matter of putting all that together. We’ll certainly need all of that at Chicagoland because it’s so fast and handling is so critical.”
