Food City 250 - Bristol Motor Speedway

Earnhardt Jr. Wins from Pole in Thunder Valley
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was able to hold off fellow Nextel Cup competitor Matt Kenseth in the first green-white-checkered finish in the Busch series to win the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Earnhardt, who started the event from the pole position, led 125 of the event’s 256 laps to lead the most laps on the night. The race only featured four leaders on Friday evening and three of the four were regulars on the Cup circuit; Earnhardt, Kenseth (60), and Kevin Harvick (54). The only Busch series regular to lead a lap was rookie J.J. Yeley. Earnhardt outran Kenseth by .1 seconds in the two-lap shootout to capture his 20th career win in the series. Kenseth brought home the runner-up spot in the run down, while Kyle Busch was best-in-class, finishing in the third position. A pair of Davids rounded out the top five in the finishing order, with David Green finishing fourth and David Stremme finishing fifth.
