Sharpie Professional 250 - Robby Gordon Notes

FRUIT OF THE LOOM AND ROBBY GORDON SET TO TAKE ON THE WORLD'S FASTEST HALF MILE

Huntersville, NC (March 24, 2004) - The Robby Gordon owned Fruit of the Loom Racing Team sets out take on Bristol Motor Speedway, the "World's Fastest Half Mile," in the NASCAR Busch Series Sharpie Professional 250. Gordon, currently fifth in the Busch Series points standings after a seventh-place finish at Darlington, hopes to lead his team to its first victory as he races behind the wheel of the No. 55 Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

More than 100,000 fans will be able to witness Robby Gordon and the Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet Monte Carlo March 27th at the Bristol Motor Speedway not to mention the millions watching live at 1 p.m. on FX. Having run well in the first four races this year, the Fruit of the Loom Racing Team already feels long overdue for a win even though the 2004 season is just getting underway.

"Our cars have been pretty good so far," said Gordon. "Our Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet Monte Carlo performed well at Darlington but we built this program to win and that's exactly what we want to do. Bristol is a great track, but we need to qualify well on Friday so we have a better chance of staying out of trouble during Saturday's race."

Crew Chief Bob Temple is looking forward to Bristol and has high hopes for the team's performance. "Bristol is one of my favorite places to race," said Temple. "We have some good ideas for this race so hopefully we will come away with a win."
