ppc Racing Seeking Full-Time Sponsor for Busch Team in 2005
(Mooresville, N.C.) – ppc Racing car owner Greg Pollex announced Tuesday that Miller High Life will not return for the 2005 season. Miller High Life is a primary sponsor on the ppc owned No. 22 Ford driven by Jason Keller for 19 of the 34 races on the 2004 schedule.
Although the team will be running a limited Busch Series schedule in 2005 with their newly announced Nextel Cup driver, John Andretti (a sponsor has not yet been announced), the team is still looking to add a second car to the program with a full-time sponsor for the 2005 season. ppc Racing has fielded a two-car team in the series since 2000, when driver Jeff Green won the NASCAR Busch Series Championship by 600 points, the largest points margin in the history of NASCAR. The successful organization also fielded the 2002 Rookie of the Year and has had at least one car finish in the top-five in the point’s standings for the last four consecutive years.
“We’d like to get back to a two-car operation for our Busch Series program,” said Pollex. “We’ve already solidified a partial deal for John (Andretti) to drive, but we’d really like to get another full-time sponsor for a second Busch car. We have an experienced group of guys here that have the will to win and are prepared to go after our second Series Championship in 2005.”
Based in Mooresville, N.C., ppc Racing is one of the most accomplished racing organizations in NASCAR history; having amassed 27 wins, 150 top-fives, 235 top-10’s and have finished in the top-five in Busch Series Championship standings for four consecutive years; including a championship in 2000. As ppc Racing enters the 2005 season, they will field cars in each of NASCAR’s premier racing divisions, the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
