Duraflame Announces Partnership with Brewco Motorsports and Biffle in 2005
“We’re very excited about this new opportunity with Brewco and Greg Biffle. Brewco has a long tradition of success in the Busch Series, and with their new agreements with Ford for program development and Roush / Yates to supply motors we are confident that we will have first rate equipment to compete with the best funded, Cup supported teams in the Busch series. And having Greg Biffle as our driver is the icing on the cake. Greg is a fierce competitor and one of the most successful Busch Series drivers in recent years. With the former Busch Champion, who had 5 Busch wins this season finishing 3rd in total points, piloting our car we are confident Busch Series fans will be seeing the eye-catching yellow Duraflame 66 car in victory lane many more times in 2005,” stated Chris Caron, Vice President of Marketing for Duraflame, Inc.
“We are very proud to have Duraflame join us in the celebration of our tenth season in NASCAR. This is a very exciting time for us, and with their support and enthusiasm, 2005 will be a year to remember. Both the Duraflame family and the Brewco family have been involved in the wood products industry for decades, and both companies have operations in the state of Kentucky, making this relationship the perfect fit. With the addition of a championship caliber driver such as Greg Biffle, we are very excited to show up to the track and compete for wins each and every week,” stated Clarence Brewer Jr.
“As I explored my options for the 2005 season, I was quickly comforted by the professionalism and dedication that Clarence Brewer and the entire Brewco Motorsports organization have shown in their efforts to build a championship caliber program. With the support of Duraflame and Ford Racing, there is no doubt we will be challenging for wins every Saturday. I have had a lot of success in the NASCAR Busch Series and look forward to continuing that level of success with Brewco and Duraflame,” 2002 Busch Series champion Greg Biffle added.
An arrangement has been worked out with Rusty Wallace, Inc. Racing (RWIR) to transfer the #66 to Brewco so that Duraflame may continue the equity it built in the Busch Series during it 2004 premier season as a NASCAR Busch Series Car sponsor. The new #66 Duraflame Ford, which will make its debut at Daytona International Speedway next February, will run a limited schedule of 17 events spread throughout the 2005 season. Brewco has also secured additional limited schedule programs with other organizations such as Royal Office Products and the United States Postal Service taking the primary position when Duraflame is not on the car, which should allow the new #66 Brewco team to compete for the 2005 owner’s championship.
Even though Duraflame has moved its Busch sponsorship to Brewco from RWIR it plans to continue a promotional relationship with Rusty Wallace. “Rusty is a NASCAR fan favorite and has been a great spokesman for our company. He made a significant contribution to fielding a competitive Busch team during its first year of existence, that produced a victory and several top 10 finishes. We have parted on good terms and we plan to be very involved with Rusty and Miller Brewing Company’s Miller Lite brand during his final season,” stated Caron. In addition to retail activation and promotion of it’s #66 Busch team with Greg Biffle, Duraflame has also scheduled special retail promotions and packaging for its new charcoal products tying into the 2005 “Rusty’s Last Call” tour that will pay tribute to Wallace’s phenomenal racing career.”
