Wimmer Makes 100th Career Busch Series Start at Memphis Motorsports Park
"I think it is pretty neat that I'm having my 100th career start at Memphis," said Wimmer. "It is hard to believe that three years have gone by so quickly. I've had such a great time racing for Bill Davis Racing and I have learned so much while I've been here. It has been such a wonderful experience and I've made so many great relationships there. I'm very grateful to Bill Davis for taking a chance on me and giving me such a great opportunity and I'm very excited about my future ahead of me there."
In addition to reaching that career milestone, Wimmer returns as the defending race winner, as he scored his second career Busch Series win at Memphis last fall.
"It will be pretty awesome coming back to Memphis as the defending race winner," said Wimmer. "It was a great win for us last year. We didn't qualify real well and we raced our way to the front. We had a lot of late race cautions where I had to restart several times in front of Ron Hornaday. Hornaday's nickname is the 'king of restarts,' and I learned so much from him about restarts in that one race. On one restart he did get by me and we had to race our way past him. It was a very memorable race. I feel pretty good that we'll be able to have the same success we had the last time around. I'd love to put our No. 23 Stacker 2/YJ Stinger Chevy in victory lane again."
Wimmer, in his Stacker 2/YJ Stinger Chevrolet, will take the green flag for the Sam's Town 250 on Saturday, October 18th at 3:00 p.m. ET televised live on TNT.
