Aaron's 312 - Todd Bodine Notes
HERZOG JACKSON MOTORSPORTS EAGERLY AWAITING TALLADEGA
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 2, 2003) - Coming off an exciting weekend at Texas
Motor Speedway where the Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo
posted another top-five finish, the No. 92 organization is hoping to repeat
their performance at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway when the Aaron's 312
kicks off on Saturday April 5th.
Todd Bodine scored a fourth place finish in last Saturday's O'Reilly 300,
giving the Herzog Jackson Motorsports racing team a total of five top-10
finishes, three top-fives, and one victory for the 2003 season. Bodine
also leads the Busch Series driver's points race, ahead of second place
Jason Keller by a commanding 104 points ? all of this success coming from
a team which is currently searching for sponsorship.
Bodine arrives at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway a seasoned veteran. With
eight starts previously in the Busch Series at the 2.66-mile tri-oval track,
he brings experience to the track deemed the "fastest speedway in the world."
With four top-ten finishes and three top-fives, Bodine also sat on the
pole in April of 2000.
This is the second pairing of Bodine and Herzog Jackson Motorsports at Talladega
(Ala.) Superspeedway. In their first pairing at the speedway in April of
2002, Bodine led Herzog Jackson Motorsports to a fourth place finish ? their
best ever at Talladega. After qualifying in 17th position, Bodine managed
to escape a 27- car wreck with only minor damage.
"Having a wreck like we did last year at Talladega is pretty inevitable
when you have guys running that close together and going that fast," stated
Bodine. "We were lucky to get through with only minimal damage and be able
to still get a top-five finish. This year we feel like we have a car that?s
good enough to win, and hopefully we can have a clean race so we can bring
the Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevy to victory lane."
Live television coverage of the Aaron's 312 will begin at 2:00 pm EST on
FOX. MRN Radio will also broadcast the event live beginning at 2:00 pm
EST.
